The Liebster Award

blogliebster

This is actually my first time with this award and nominations! I did a tag once, but it was slightly different from this (I am new to the blogging community, so pardon me if this seems weird….). If there are any of the wonderful readers wondering for the lack of content for the previous two days (three days including this), I will be posting a review soon! This time, it will be “The Metamorphosis and Other Stories” by Franz Kafka since I will probably finish the book in a day or two.

Digressions aside, I would really like to express my gratitude to Book Princess Reviews (which reader doesn’t like reviews? besides, her reviews help you to find magic!) which I recently followed for nominating me! Again, this is my first award nomination and I am very delighted for this πŸ˜€ . Thank you for considering me who is still new in this platform and sharing the joy and honor. I shall wish for your success in delivering quality content as you have been!

Now then, I will try doing this properly. I hope I’m doing it correctly πŸ™‚

The Rules

Thank the person who nominated you and answer the 11 questions they’ve written for you.

Nominate 11 people and give them 11 different questions to answer.

Questions by Book Princess Reviews – the blog post can be found HERE

If your life was a story, what would you name it?

This is somehow difficult…..I would probably name mine “The World Inside” since I tend to imagine a lot of things in my head, creating my own world. Although in reality it may be a simple, or even monotonous life, it is never so inside my mind! The story would mostly about the things I imagine, and they shouldn’t be all that boring! At least I believe that a world where televisions and cookies can talk is not boring….or is it?

What Disney character can’t you stand? Or hate the most?

There is one Disney character that I like the least (I don’t hate her, I have nobody that I hate in this regard), and that is the White Queen in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Everything went wrong because of her (sorry) childish thoughts towards the Red Queen when they were little, and she keeps on antagonizing her! Still, I ‘d be afraid of the Red Queen if I were to be beheaded too…..

Do you ever read the last page of a novel before you get to that point? Why or why not?

I have been tempted to read the last page of the novel while I am near the end of the book fairly often, but I resisted the urge to do so, since this carries the potential to somehow ruin, or at least reduce the excitement in reading the passages within the last few pages. I would like to become part of that world without knowing what will happen next, unless the book switches point of views or applies the omniscient point of view, in order to experience and fully appreciate the twists and turns πŸ˜€

What do you do to get out of a reading slump?

Watch or read some book reviews by the wonderful bloggers here! Sometimes, I go over to YouTube and watch some literary analysis.  After that, I would feel like “I want to talk about this too!” and I will pick up a book whether it is the same book reviewed or not. Basically, seeing people read makes me want to do the same thing!

lieb1

An analysis of Hamlet in Thug Notes/Wisecrack, one of my favorite place in YouTube!

What season is your favorite? If you don’t have seasons, do you prefer warmer or colder weather?

I don’t have seasons in my place (unless rainy and sunny can be considered so..in that regard, I prefer sunny, since rainy season makes traveling a lot more difficult and not to mention possible flooding). If it is about the weather, I prefer colder weather (but not rains or snows), because it is more tormenting when it is too hot for me.

Do you binge watch things or prefer to watch things nice and slow?

I prefer to watch things in one go, or as long as I can before deciding to take a break. Hence, I prefer to read or watch works that have been completed to avoid that agonizing wait for the next entry to come out….we all know that feeling right…? right?

Do you use any social media? and if so, what is your favorite?

I believe LINE is considered to be a social media? Still, LINE is my favorite simply because most of my friends use it. I used to visit Facebook really often and owned a Pokemon page there, but since the amount of people using it is declining, LINE is my favorite one for now πŸ™‚  . Besides, it has cute mascots!

What was the last book that instantly became a favorite?

lieb5

An instant favorite would be Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, which I am planning to re-read and review it here some time in the future! After venturing into the books’ first several pages, I was so intrigued by the events unfolding that I finished it in a day or two (I’m not a fast reader). I like all the books I own, but the latest one that provided me with that ‘instant-favorite’ feeling is this one.

If you could only wear one color for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would choose blue! I am never tired of blue XD

When do you do most of your reading?

I mostly read at night, when I am free to do whatever I want! I actually read in between college classes, or when waiting for someone, basically I read whenever there is a window between activities. Nevertheless, the majority of the reading time is spent during the night before bedtime (I decide my own bedtime too!)

I don’t understand you, but I will return to you, and I will read you!

Has there ever been a book that has made you want to stop reading?

If ‘stop reading’ means not reading that book for good, then no. I always try to finish the book I started, unless it means ‘stopping or postponing the read temporarily’, then yes. Although this case has only happened once; it was several months ago, when I was over a hundred pages into Jostein Gaarder’s “Sophie’s World”. Suddenly, I was really perplexed by the philosophical lessons provided as everything seems jumbled and I seem not to be able to understand a thing. Hence, I decided to stop reading for a while, and perhaps I will continue it soon, from the very beginning…..

If you actually read all of those, thanks a lot! if you skimmed it through, thanks too! I hope my answers are not that boring (they are honest!), and again, massive thanks for the nominator πŸ˜€

Here are my nominations:

The Tea Mile / Jules Mortimer@littlemissnosleep / The Book Wench / literaryplum / audsley / notsomoderngirl / Fables Library /Jillian Writes A Blog / Ruby Lila / Bookie Monster’s Blog / thisismybookshelfblog

I followed them all, and they are fantastic! I actually wanted to nominate more, but that’d be against the rules. If you have done this before, or are not in the mood, then not doing this is fine, too πŸ™‚

My Questions:

  1. If you can only read one book in your lifetime, what would it be?
  2. What is your favorite genre in a novel?
  3. Have you ever ‘forgotten’ in finishing a book after taking a break from it?
  4. Do you prefer classic literature or contemporary literature?
  5. If you can change one major event in any fiction novel, which book would it be, and which event?
  6. What book possesses the highest amount of language difficulty for you to read?
  7. If you were to have one wish granted, what would it be? (wishing for multiple wishes is prohibited)
  8. Would you rather be a CEO of a major company or a famous writer?
  9. Who is your favorite villain/antagonist from a book or movie?
  10. Who is your least favorite hero/protagonist from a book or movie?
  11. Choose one: infinite money or immortality? and why?

Hopefully, I asked them right and did not violate any rules….if I did it correctly, for those nominated, feel free to be part of this by answering them or continue with your post plans, although I am curious of your answers!

Thanks for nominating me, and everyone, feel free to answer the questions through the comments! I’d love to know your answers, too! πŸ˜€

You totally did it correctly! πŸ™‚ Blue is always such a great color and definitely what I would probably choose as well if I had to wear one color! And I am super jealous that you have the patience not to jump ahead and read the last pages! I tend to do that and totally spoil myself. 😦 And I’m definitely not a fan of the White Queen either! Your post was so much fun to read, and thanks so much for your kind words! πŸ™‚

Good to know I did fine! πŸ˜€

Yes, blue is just so comfortable to look at, too πŸ™‚ . I know the urge to take a look (even brief ones!) is so great at times, but just think of the possible consequences, and maybe you will be able to resist it, too! Sometimes, though, reading how the story can develop to the ending we have spoiled ourselves with is still engaging πŸ˜€

Glad if you had fun reading! and yes, thank you too for giving me this wonderful opportunity πŸ™‚ I had a blast doing it!

Yes, I did see your name on her post, but I figured I would nominate you again since you tagged me for the School Subjects Tag, which I am grateful for too! (I do hope you are fine with this..).

Glad to know they aren’t boring! I’ll can’t wait for your answers in the joint post πŸ˜€

Thank you! Yes, it might be boring at times, so when that part comes, I take a break before returning to it. Nevertheless, my main issue with the book is that I have reached a point where it is just too puzzling for me to understand the philosophy.

It’s been a few months, so I hope I’ll understand it when I return to it πŸ™‚

Thank you for the comment πŸ˜€

Wow! Thanks for the nomination! I haven’t been really active in the WordPress Community for a while. I say thank you again for letting me know that my blog is (to use your own word) fantastic. 😊
I’ll find time this week to post about this. Have a good day!

Thanks! Haha! I was thinking of being active in the community like following more people, commenting to posts and all. Haven’t done it for so long. Thanks for this award I’ll be checking on others’ blog now to do the nominations! Btw, does the nominations have to be relatively new bloggers? 😊

Sure! Thanks for deciding to answer the questions XD

I believe not, you free to nominate anyone you want, but I nominated several new bloggers since they are probably those needing connections the most for now πŸ™‚

Well, that was my first award, so I still had no clear idea… but that is my opinion πŸ™‚
