My Life in Books Tag!

The featured image is not my bookshelf, it is from Pixabay! 🙂 . I cannot take a picture of my shelf since I am away at the moment….but I will definitely do it some other time!

So…this is my second book tag! First of all, I would like to say thank you to Nadwa@Painfully Fictional (the tag post HERE, and her reviews are wonderful!) for tagging me to this fun post XD . Furthermore, I believe that this post is not only for the sake of responding to a tag, but also as an opportunity to provide additional details about myself in an enjoyable manner 🙂  . That being said, without further ado, let us begin!

Book for Each Initial

A – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll

L – Lord of the Flies by William Golding

I –  In a Glass Grimmly by Adam Gitwitz

C – Coraline by Neil Gaiman

E – Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

For books without the link to their respective review, those are the books that I plan to read (or re-read) and write the review here some time in the future 🙂

Age – Count Along Your Bookshelf

My 2oth book is Markus Zusak’s “The Book Thief” which I plan to read (I plan to read everything XD). I like the concept where Death is the narrator, especially during the bleak times of World War II. I’ll get to the book hopefully around next month.

I am visiting my family for a few weeks, so I couldn’t take a picture of my bookshelf…will do it in the future! 🙂

Book that Represents A Destination
You Would Love to Travel to

Mine would be “The Little Paris Bookshop” by Nina George. Actually, I want to travel to the United States, England, and Australia, too! I have never been to English-speaking countries, but that is purely for the sake of experience and book-purchases. Since I was little, I have been seeing Paris in a lot of cultural works, and that has kind of implanted a certain thought inside my head that “this is my ultimate travel destination!” 🙂 .

Favorite Color

I like all sorts of blue! if I had to choose one, it would be Navy Blue! One of the primary reasons on why I decided to purchase a certain book, aside from the story premise, is the attractive cover XD . That book being Adam Gitwitz’s A Tale Dark and Grimm!

Most Difficulty Reading

For the books that I have read, the one which is most difficult was Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe. The hugely influential book was published in 1719, resulting in an abundance of archaic words and uncommon sentence structures being used. Furthermore, a large portion of the book was the description on how Robinson Crusoe crafted his equipment, utensils, boats, and how he tamed along with herding goats; now, I am fine with these as they are crucial to the development and logicality, but they were explained in a really intricate, detailed manner, making me wonder if I was reading a novel or a survival guide 😦 .

Which Book in the TBR Pile Will You Get the Biggest Sense of Accomplishment From?

I still haven’t owned it yet, but I do plan to hunt for it and read it some time in the future! that book would be James Joyce’s “Ulysses”. I know that most of the books I have mentioned here are classics, but I haven’t read many contemporaries, so forgive me for that 😦  . I do plan to include more contemporaries, though….I would be getting a number of books (mostly YA) around next week! XD

Back to the topic at hand! I believe that “Ulysses” is a really difficult read, yet it is one of the most important novel (at least my peers told me so, and I did a bit of research on it), particularly in Modernism and the stream-of-consciousness writing. Now, I don’t know much about the book as I haven’t read it yet, but I do plan to! 😀

Thank you for the wonderful tag! I had fun doing it, and for those reading, I hope you had fun reading my answers too! 🙂

My tags:

Eva@Brilliantly Bookish

Birdie Bookworm

A Happy Clam

The Book Raven

Royal Reader

I believe those are the wonderful blogs that usually do tags, but it is fine even if you are not feeling like doing one for the moment 😀  . Hopefully, my tag doesn’t bother you in any way!

If there is anyone there willing to do the tag, too feel free to do so (I believe this is allowed…?) 🙂  .

Again, no worries if you don’t want to do it, and thank you for reading!

I wish you a great day ahead! and a great tomorrow, a great week, a great month, a great life! XD
